Kalevala brings the magnificent jewellery artefacts of the Viking Age of the 800-1050s within reach of today. The Vikings stopped by the coast of Finland on their trade journeys from the East, exchanging furs for weapons and jewellery, among other things. Inspired by these jewellery from all over the world, Finnish jewellers created new jewellery with a distinctive Finnish design. The jewellery created at that time has in turn inspired later jewellers to design jewellery with a Viking spirit.
