Cobi Historical Building Blocks 3113 - Tiger II (Königstiger)

The Tiger II, also known as the Königstiger (known by its people as Kings Tiger), was a German heavy tank used during World War II. This is the largest tiger in COBI’s range for the first time, designed in scale 1:35 and with a camouflage typical of the last period of the war.

The model has moving wheels, working caterpillars, rotating turret with a moving gun, a hatch where you can place a figure, a detachable engine and many other details!

• PANZERKAMPFWAGEN VI Ausf. B KONIGSTIGER was introduced in 1944 and it was one of the most effective tanks of its time.
• The Tiger II combined thick armor, which extended up to 180 mm in the front of the hull, with a powerful 88 mm KwK 43 L/71 gun, making it a formidable opponent on the battlefield.
• It weighed about 70 tons.
• The Maybach HL230 P30 engine, with a power of 700 hp, allowed it to reach a speed of up to 38 km/h on the road.

Despite its impressive combat performance, the Tiger II had many technical problems, including recurring engine and chassis failures. Its complex design and huge resource consumption made production expensive and time-consuming. A total of approximately 492 units were manufactured.

The Tiger II participated in many key battles, including the Bulgen battle and battles on the Eastern Front. Its presence on the battlefield had a significant psychological effect, but in practice it was often limited by logistical and technical problems.

Despite its shortcomings, the Tiger II is still one of the most famous and recognizable tanks of World War II.
